becoming wise

becoming wise

requires attention.

wisdom is not something that comes without active, conscious reflection on our experience.

We all make meaning of everything that happens to us. Wisdom comes from consciously noticing and interrogating the meaning we have made, noticing the feelings that we may be avoiding, and reflecting on other possible ways to understand how we came to believe what we think.

But reflecting alone is often unproductive. Our minds become self-reinforcing echo-chambers in which we can lose perspective and get stuck.

We can’t know what we don’t know.

Another mind trained to reflect with us can enable us to gain insight, make progress, change direction, become unstuck. Having someone in the room who is curious about us can help us be curious about ourselves. Someone who cares about our feelings can allow our feelings to become important and worth feeling, instead of wrong or forbidden.

We are here for you: to care, to be curious, to reflect, and to listen differently.

Neurodiverse minds (autism, adhd, gifted) can grow and change with care and accomodation

who are you?

We work with individuals, couples, thruples, polycules, families, and other dyads such as workplace partners, parent and child (including adult children), and friends. We are all-inclusive. We welcome and celebrate diverse neuro-identities (whether formally diagnosed, self-identified, curious or contentious), LGBTQUIAA+. We are client-led in terms of all the ways you identify—including gender, race, culture, spiritual beliefs, and whatever makes you you.

Who are we?

We are Kristin and Julie, long-time friends who have known one another longer than we haven’t. After meeting as weird teenagers,  we followed our respective, nonlinear paths through years of education and exploration, until we found ourselves coincidentally raising neurodivergent kids in Los Angeles. We reunited as single moms discovering our own neurodivergence and decided almost simultaneously to be the therapists we wish we had. As therapists and coaches, we believe in showing up authentically with curiosity and compassion as we collaborate with you to discover together your way forward.
