You’re not alone

Group therapy and support

We are biologically designed for connection, yet surgeon general Vivek Murthy has declared loneliness an epidemic with serious physical and mental health consequences. For many of us, the idea of joining a group brings about a full-bodied NO, because we have painful experiences as outsiders. Whether implicitly sensing that we don’t belong or being explicitly excluded, the experience of not belonging—and not knowing how to belong—is traumatic. Being unwanted, bullied, or shunned is where shame takes root and becomes identity: I am wrong; I am weird; I am unlovable. Although withdrawing from social interactions and relationships is an understandable way to seek safety and prevent further pain, we can’t heal from relational trauma alone.

Processing painful relational experiences in a therapeutic, relational space is an essential part of healing from relational trauma. We invite you, especially, to bring the parts of you that don’t want to show up. Those are the parts that need connection the most. We’re are confident that you’ll find that you’ are not as alone as you think you are.

We curate our groups carefully. Let us know if you’re interested in any of the following groups, and we’ll contact you for an initial screening.

Currently, all groups are offered virtually, on our secure, private, telehealth platform (Simple Practice).
